Explanation

I do follow back. I follow back every fitness/weight loss blog that follows me.

I also do not follow anyone who posts thinspo, of any kind. As soon as any thinspo* shows up on my dash, I unfollow the poster. If I really like the blog and/or I’ve been following it for a while, I’ll give it a second chance, but that’s it. So if I’ve unfollowed you, that’s why.

*I define thinspo as any kind of body-worship.(Except muscles. I have respect for muscles. But even that can be overdone.) Examples:

“I want that [body part].” “That’s the kind of [body part] I want.” “Look at that [body part]!” “She has such an amazing [body part].”

And, of course, any posts of mostly-unclothed women who aren’t doing anything.

This is for several reasons.

1. I do not support any kind of thinking that goes like “this body is better than that one.” Better for me means healthier, and you can’t see that in pictures, so don’t fawn over anyone else’s body.

2. It’s triggering for me. I don’t want that mindset, or anything that promotes it, around me.

3. I hate the idea of only appreciating someone’s appearance. Those pictures tell you nothing about the person in them except their appearance, and that is no part of a person. It’s not their goals or dreams or morals, it’s not their friends or habits or choices. It is the least important part of them, and we should act appropriately.

So in short, I hate thinspo, anything that promotes body-worship is thinspo, and either stop posting thinspo or don’t be offended if you’re one follower down.
